A 5-day training workshop, “Introduction to Health Economics,” held at the Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong from 20th–24th May 2025, was led by Dr. Mayur Trivedi in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi. The workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of health economics, healthcare markets, public goods, economical decision making, and concepts of economics in relation to public health and healthcare systems. The sessions were interactive and used applied learning methodology, attendees explored key health system challenges and developed practical skills in policy costing and interpreting economic evidence. The workshop brought together students, researchers, and public health professionals, equipping them with essential tools to contribute to evidence-based decision-making in healthcare.
