Primary Health Teams Coaching Workshop Conducted in West Garo Hills

A two-day Primary Health Teams Coaching Workshop was successfully conducted in West Garo Hills at the Working Women’s Hostel, Mission Compound, as part of the ongoing effort to strengthen teamwork and service delivery at Health & Wellness Centres (HWCs).

This final phase of training brought together 19 mentors and focused on three key modules: Team Performance, Team Planning, and Communication & Wrap-Up. The workshop aimed to equip mentors with practical strategies to support team functioning, planning processes, and effective communication within primary healthcare settings.

The sessions were facilitated by public health experts from Johns Hopkins University and the Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong (IPSI team). Participants were also introduced to the third facilitator guidebook developed for Health & Wellness Centre teams.

The workshop provided a valuable platform for peer learning and reflection, where coach pairs shared experiences from the previous three months, including lessons on team engagement, implementation challenges, and practical solutions from the field.

The final phase of module implementation is now underway across 27 intervention HWCs, marking another important step toward strengthening primary healthcare systems in Meghalaya.
