Public Engagement Lecture hosted by IIPH Shillong

The Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong, in collaboration with Martin Luther Christian University, hosted a Public Health Lecture on “Frantz Fanon: A Decolonial – Ethnographic Methodology: Knowledge Formed in Life, Clinic and Struggle.”

The session was delivered by Roy Moodley of the University of Toronto, Canada, who led an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on the intersections of culture, identity, and decolonial perspectives in psychotherapy and public health.

The lecture examined how knowledge is shaped through lived experiences, clinical practice, and social struggle, while encouraging participants to reflect on inclusive and context-sensitive approaches to health and well-being. The session generated meaningful dialogue among students, faculty members, and participants on both global and local perspectives in public health practice.

The event served as an enriching platform for learning, reflection, and academic exchange, reinforcing the importance of diverse perspectives in advancing public health education and practice.
