M.Sc.HETA
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is essential for evidence-based policy decisions, evaluating health technologies and their impacts on health systems. HTA bridges research and policy-making by providing evidence for decision-makers.
Given the need for quality HTA studies and the lack of trained professionals, a formal postgraduate degree in HTA is necessary. The M.Sc. in Health Economics and Technology Assessment (HETA) aims to train students in assessing economic, social, and ethical aspects of health technologies and their impact on health policy. The program uses real-world examples, emphasizing India-specific case studies and comparisons with other countries.
Bachelor Of Public Health
The BSc PH program is being offered at the Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong (IIPHS) in collaboration with the Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSc PH) program is a full-time course of 3 years’ duration with an optional fourth year of internship and or research training. Alternatively, the students may also opt for an integrated MPH program which is a three years BSc PH + 2 years Masters MPH (3+2). The BSc PH curriculum has been designed by various subject experts in the field of public health to help students learn about epidemiology, social sciences, environmental health sciences, health policy, health communication, disease outbreak investigation and health education. Students learn to assess a community’s health requirements, devise plans / policies, evaluate and implement health programs.
